Small Press Idol

I've entered this year's Small Press Idol competition, partnered with writer Chris Barker. Our project involves a superhero from a small town who finally makes it into the big city hero team, only to be zapped on her first adventure, and lose her memory. Her husband then tries to keep her from finding out she was a superhero, so she devotes more time to her family and kids again.

The first round of the competition involved a cover sketch. Here's what we submitted:



We got voted into the second round based on this cover, but some of the comments from the judges indicated they wanted something more dynamic, so we came up with a second try:



We're hard at work on the round two materials, which include character bios and drawings.
